"Rocky" Capacette

I adopted Rocky in November of 1995.  He was only 18 months old and had been rejected from the tracks because he refused to turn left!  As a result, when I adopted him, he was a psychological and emotional wreck.  I adopted him as a Special Needs hound at the request of the president of Greyhound Friends, NJ, Barbara Wicklund.  The first six months was an ordeal, .but I never lost hope.   Over the last three years he has made enormous strides and is now almost "normal."  He is an absolute "goof" at home and is starting to show the world what a clown he can be.  At the recommendation of a local trainer, I   enrolled him in basic obedience classes and he is now almost ready to enter the Obedience Ring.  Additionally, he has shown an affinity with agility and does a "victory dance" after completing each jump.  I would suppose that this type of behavior won't do anything to gain points at a trial, but it's fun to watch.  Hopefully, if all goes well and I can break him of this goofy habit, he will be able to compete sometime next season.  Even if I can't, it'll still  be lots of fun to just watch him do his stuff.   He has become one of the most affectionate hounds it has ever been my pleasure to own/meet.  Maybe, someday, he'll even give me a kiss.
