"Evan & Ladybug" Chandler

Hello again Ives, I forgot to tell you about Evan and Ladybug and Penny. I got Evan off a kill truck when we went to pick up a load of greys in New England in '94. He was an absolute sweetheart on the long trip to North Carolina, and I fell in love with him and took him home. The next year, Ladybug was one of my many fosters and she was just not getting over her shyness as I had hoped she would, so the "potato chip" syndrome (just gotta have one more!) struck and I adopted her (besides, she and Evan were getting along so well!). She has finally emerged from her shell after several years and is now quite alpha! Penny was just rescued this spring when she was burned by someone mean and dumped on a roadside and left for dead as a 12-wk. old puppy. She has not only survived, but proven herself to be loving and very happy and quite a little stinker! She chases her tail and has figured out in one evening how to get all of the treats out of her Kong toy! Greyhounds are truly loving and good natured and resilient! What "Greyt" companions and family members! And God bless all those wonderful volunteers out there! Karen, Evan, Bug, & Penny Chandler / North Carolina
