We adopted Bayou Boy in October 1993 from Mobile Greyhound Park adoption kennel.  We already had one greyhound, Zance (my soul mate, waiting at the bridge since 01/10/2000), since March 1992.  We were attending a M&G and talking with the lady that ran the adoption kennel.  I was telling her I would love to have her job, working with greyhounds all the time.  She said, "Well, I have to do the euthanasia, too."  That immediately turned me off her job!  She said, "In fact, I have one grey right now that is such a darling, I've been "hiding" him for more than a month now, putting off the inevitable."  It seems most thought he was too big (over 80 pounds) and weren't interested in adopting him.  Well, of course, with a story like that, we told her we would take him, sight unseen!  We went the next day and picked him up and brought him home.  He's still going strong (thinks he's a puppy) at 11 1/2!
